An Indian-origin man confessed in an Ontario court to participating in two sham marriages to aid Indian women in immigrating to Canada. In exchange for cash and care for his mother, Amratpal Singh Sidhu admitted to the deceit. The court, hearing a case between Sidhu and his first wife Amandeep Kaur, declared their marriage invalid due to these revelations.
